Classes introduce them to letters, sounds, counting and identifying numbers 1-10 and pre-writing skills. Fine-motor development is encouraged through hands-on projects using a variety of mediums. Music, movement, manners and prayer are also part of their daily routine.

They vary between working independently, one-on-one, in small groups and in large groups. The primary focus for children in 4’s classes is preparation for kindergarten. Independence, joy of learning, exploration, creativity and academic endeavors take center stage. Children recite the pledge, days, months, seasons, numbers, letters, colors, shapes and prayer. They use chants, songs, stories, finger plays, poems and projects to help them recognize and reinforce these things as well as to develop a love of art and literature. Exposure to beginning reading and writing skills, further fine and gross motor development, and science, nature and social projects help to prepare them for kindergarten. There is a continued emphasis on social skills, manners, responsibility, life skills and classroom etiquette as well.
